ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi, I’m Heather Brister!
I specialize in creating original, one-of-a-kind works of art in acrylic paint and mixed-media (Paint), photography (Pictures) and digital/graphic art (Pixels). I LOVE color (like, a lot!) and texture and make these both priorities in my pieces. I lean towards painting mostly abstract art but enjoy painting subjects and landscapes as well.
For my photography, I own a Nikon D5600 and use my iPhone when my Nikon isn’t handy. Plus I use Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing. Architecture and landscapes are my favorite subjects to photograph.
As for my digital/graphic art, I am experienced in the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and specifically use Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign to create graphic files. I have a lot of experience in creating marketing graphics and documents for businesses, but have turned that into experience needed to design fun, creative, abstract graphics for art.
I created Hotel Bravo Art after many years of different industry experience, from banking and finance to graphics and marketing. My love for art started back in grade school where I enjoyed painting, drawing and learning how to use Photoshop. I envisioned making graphic design my university major but decided to take the business route instead (you know, bills!). Many years and phases in life later, I’m finally able to focus full-time on being an artist!
The creativity behind the name ‘Hotel Bravo’ came from my husband, Bryan! He uses the phonetic alphabet from private aviation and would frequently call me Hotel Lima as a nickname before we got married (my initials used to be HL). After our nuptials, my nickname became Hotel Bravo (my new initials are HB)! Needless to say, the nickname stuck and here we are today!
I currently reside in the greater Los Angeles area, but call Texas my home. My likes/loves are traveling, boating, hiking, ramen and animals!
Art is beautiful! Everyone has their own perspective and interpretation of what they are viewing. Everyone is inspired by something different.
